Alfred
Fischer and his wife have 25 hectares of vineyards in
the Burgenland region of Austria, an area of the world
which has become synonymous with the production of spectacular
sweet wines.
| Fischer's
winery is extremely well equipped and, by utilising
modern winemaking techniques, the family produce
wines of exceptional quality and balance. But it
is not only in the winery that great efforts are
made to produce these remarkable sweet wines. |

|
The
Eiswein is made from Samling 88 grapes, often picked
late in December in temperatures as low as minus 8 degrees.
Fermentation is in stainless steel and stops naturally
after around 5 weeks.
 |
|
It
is shining yellow-gold in colour with aromas and
flavours reminiscent of mango, apricot and lemon.
A backbone of acidity gives the wine great balance
and amazing freshness.
The
Trockenbeerenauslese, made from Bouvier grapes,
has a heady aroma of grapefruit, honey and almonds
with fantastic balance on the palate and great
length.
The
wines are bottled in 25cl clear glass. They are
ideal with desserts and wonderful with blue cheeses
and fruit.
