Villa Brunesca is a family estate in the Piave region of the Veneto, North East Italy. They produce wonderfully expressive, elegant and well balanced wines, unmistakably Venetian in style. The family have also purchased La Ponca, an estate situated in Collio in the far North Eastern corner of the Fruili region.

The Venetian estate which dates back to the early 1900's is now run by the third generation of the family. It extends to 75 hectares of which 45 are planted as vineyards.

They see wine production as a way of life and take great care and pride in every stage of the process from the vineyards through to vinification and, while not afraid of adopting modern techniques also have great respect for the traditions of their parents and grand-parents.

In an area where yields can be very high Villa Brunesca achieves concentration and character in both red and white wines by reducing yields, rigorous selection at harvest and by the informed use of oak maturation for several of their wines.

The Prosecco is a delicious, fresh and fragrant sparkling wine, a very classy alternative. The Pinot Grigio is more than a step above the norm with complexity, freshness and weight.

The villa depicted on the label is the family home and centre of the farm and wineries. Built in the late 17th century as the summer home of a family of Venice ship-builders, it is a typical Venetian villa in layout, façade, decoration and construction. It is an excellent symbol of the combination of tradition, elegance and style that makes Villa Brunesca so special.

Tenuta la Ponca is in the far north of the region, up against the mountains, and takes its name from the vineyards oceanic sandstone and marly soils. Their Sauvignon Blanc is rich and intensely scented, fantastic as an aperitif or with seafood.
