Alliance’s Spanish portfolio is all about rising stars - extraordinary wines from amazing winemakers who are at the top of their game.
For a snapshot of the best producers
from the most interesting regions, look no further… Alliance works
with the best.
Telmo Rodriguez - one of the best known winemakers in Spain - is
now back at his family's estate, Remelluri, ensuring that the wines
are the best expression of this unique Riojan terroir. To make a
clear distinction and to introduce more people to the wines of
Remelluri, all Estate wines remain clearly defined while a new
wine, Lindes de Remelluri, is introduced as a more economic version
of this iconic Rioja so that customers can get a taste of what the
estate offers for a very reasonable price.
The Flying Scotsman Norrel Robertson continues to make
cutting-edge wines from the heartland of Garnacha country, the wild
rugged Calatayud, as well as branching out into less well-known
winemaking regions. Last year we introduced you to Dos Dedos de
Frente, a non DO wine made from Syrah and Viognier. This year we
are excited to include another wine under Norrel's La Multa range,
a Garnacha Blanca from Terra Alta in Catalunya.
The final member of this star-studded trio is Ana Martín, one of
the finest winemakers of her generation. With her own vineyards and
other winemaking projects throughout key regions of Spain such as
Rioja and Toro, Ana's passion and soul is reflected through her
Txacolí wines made in Guernica, the spiritual home of the Basque
region, and close to Ana's home of Bilbao. Set in the Biscaya
hills, the vineyards producing the Itsasmendi range of wines are
some of the most incredible and unique white wines you will taste
from Spain. The three wines in the range are superstars: Itsasmendi
with its sharp acid and crisp citrus; No 7's full-bodied
creaminess; and finally one of the best sweet wines you will ever
taste in the perfectly balanced Uretzi ("honey water" in
Along with our superstar winemakers, Alliance also this year
introduces some brightly shining wines to our range. We are now
working with one of the best wineries in Jumilla, Viña Elena, run
by 4 sisters whose wines are all focused on the local varietal of
Monastrell. The wines, under the Pacheco name, are superb value for
money, representing the best of the Mediterranean winemaking
Last, but not least, we are feeling a little retro this year in
refusing to ignore the more traditional Reserva and Gran Reserva
styles which made Spain famous. Given the tough economic times, we
felt it only right to offer you something a bit special but keenly
priced, and most importantly typically Spanish. Tierra Sagrada
Reserva and Gran Reserva from Cariñena are made with care and
passion from Tempranillo and Grenache, and left to age in the best
French and American oak.
Alliance can certainly lay claim to working with one of the most
incredible, stellar casts of winemakers and wines of Spain.
