Some of you may already be familiar with the wines from Chile’s Odfjell winery and we’re delighted to be strengthening the South American offer with what is one of the country’s cutting edge producers.

Norwegian born ship owner (armador) Dan Odfjell fell in love with the Maipo region some 20 years ago and bought some land which was turned over to vineyards a little over 10 years ago. |

With Chile’s first gravity flow winery (designed by Laurence Odfjell), a viticultural ethos that relies on minimal intervention and winemaking help from Paul Hobbs, Odfjell is well placed to make great wines.

We’ve been roundly impressed with the wines, all of which display and softness and approachability without any of the green flavours found in so many Chilean wines. |

With the introduction of the outstanding Casablanca Sauvignon Blanc and a host of oddball grapes varieties such as Carignan, Cabernet Franc and Malbec, Odfjell is a very welcome addition to the range.

Armador Sauvignon Blanc
Produced from fruit grown in the cool Casablanca Valley, this is crisp, well defined and full of juicy grapefruit and gooseberry character. |

Armador Merlot
Chile's favourite red grape is coaxed into making a fleshy, ripe, plummy red with tasty licks of chocolate and coffee. |

Armador Carmenere
Stunning value Carmenere that really shows the potential of this variety when fully ripe. Savoury, creamy and lush with spicy olive laced flavour. |

Armador Syrah
The spice of Syrah shines through in this lush, fruit packed wine. Not lacking subtlety but it is a real crowd pleaser. |

Orzada Carignan
Better known in the South of France, Carignan has found a home in Chile for over a century. The savoury, meaty character of Carignan is tamed to give a substantial, dark fruited red. |

Odjfell
This is the top wine from Odjfell and changes each year depending on which variety performs the best. This Carignan from century old vines is dense, concentrated and muscular with ripe blackcurrant fruit and woodspice. Outstanding. |
