McGregor offers an exciting range of well priced South African wines, carefully and skilfully made, well presented and ideal for on or off trade.

McGregor village lies across the Breede River from Robertson, sheltered by the Langeberg Mountains to the north and the Riviersonderend to the south.

It was settled by the Rev. Andrew McGregor in 1861 and this Scottish heritage is apparent in both the architecture of the village and the labelling of the wine.

In the vineyards and cellars however, thoroughly modern techniques are employed to produce wines with excellent fruit and character. Careful canopy management and an ideal climate produce high quality fruit on 680 hectares of vineyard. Vinification is carried out at cool temperatures and with clean juice to produce lively, vibrant wines.

McGregor white wines are crisp, fresh and very drinkable. The reds are warm, soft and ripe with good fruit and structure.

Newly introduced, and a reflection of the growing confidence of the winery, are the Winemaker's Reserve wines. The first of these, the Sauvignon Blanc 2001, was extremely well received and we are proud to be introducing both the Chardonnay 2002 and the Cabernet Sauvignon 2000. We are also excited by the potential for Shiraz from this area and hope to introduce this variety in the near future.

		Chenin Blanc, McGregor A deliciously crisp and lively example of Chenin with bags of crunchy apple like fruit, slight grassiness and a good clean finish.
		Sauvignon Blanc, McGregor Fresh, grassy and vibrant on the palate with bright and herbaceous citrus fruit.
		Pinotage Rose, McGregor A vibrant, enticing pink packed with wild strawberry fruit and hints of cassis. Crisp, mouthwateringly moreish and finishing with a flourish.
		Pinotage Ruby Cabernet, McGregor Deep ruby red in colour, this is a harmonious unwooded blend of both grape varieties. Juicy berry and spice flavours rounded off by soft, ripe tannins.
		Ruby Cabernet, McGregor Deep coloured, velvety soft red with ample damson and dark cherry fruit. Subtle oak ageing lends a creamy complexity.
		McGregor, Shiraz A young, juicy style of Shiraz with bold spicy black fruit character, soft creamy palate and good length
		Pinotage, McGregor A rich velvety expression of South Africa's native grape. Soft, jammy, slightly smoky fruit mingles with savoury spiciness and gentle oaking.
