INDOMITA
Casablanca and Maipo, Chile

www.indomita.cl

The powerhouse of our Chilean list, the hugely versatile Indomita, continues to go from strength to strength.

Whilst the entry level wines offer some of the best house wine options around, it is only a small step up to reach the next rung of quality with outstanding Casablanca Sauvignon and Pinot Noir under the Nostros label, still offering some of the very best value to be had. As sales of premium Chilean wine continue to gather pace, we have further extended the Duette range with the sensational Pinot Noir and a rich, rounded Chardonnay – capping off a momentous year for Chile and its wines.

Indomita winery

Led by Roberto Carranca, the young and dynamic winemaking team at Indomita skilfully craft wines from their great vineyard holdings in
two of Chile’s very best regions. The cooler climate Casablanca is great for Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir while the warmer Maipo Valley offers classic Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenere. Famed for their Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir in particular, which really are their calling card, it would be at your peril to overlook the quality and value offered by the Maipo Wines.

Sauvignon Blanc Reserva, Nostros
Sourced from Chile’s premium Sauvignon Blanc region, Casablanca, this is a pure, exuberantly fruity Sauvignon packed full of grassy, tropical fruit. Instantly refreshing and moreish with a lovely tangy finish.

Pinot Noir Reserva, Nostros
A light, fragrant red made from grapes grown in the cooler Casablanca region of Chile. Bright, wild strawberry and raspberry fruits dominate a soft, supple palate which leads through to a gentle, warming finish.

  Carmenere Reserva, Nostros
Carmenere is originally from Bordeaux but has found a new home in Chile where it makes wines somewhere between Merlot and Cabernet but with a little more peppery spice character. Nostros Reserva has concentrated, plummy fruit, touches of chocolate and spice and a long velvety finish.

  Chardonnay Gran Reserva, Nostros
The cool Casablanca Valley allows winds from the nearby ocean to create superb growing conditions for white grapes, particularly Sauv blanc and elegant Chardonnay. This example has been barrel fermented to give a richer, toastier style but with vibrantly zesty citrus fruit still providing the backbone.

  Merlot Gran Reserva, Nostros
The result of careful selection of the best grapes followed by ageing in oak barrels, this Merlot is a rich, ripe, fleshy example of its type. Packed full of succulent blackcurrant with hints of mint and chocolate, it is a supple, satisfying red.

  Cabernet Sauvignon Gran Reserva, Nostros

  Chardonnay, Duette

  Pinot Noir, Duette

  Cabernet Sauvignon Carmenere, Duette
Sourced from vines grown in the Alta Maipo region, close to Santiago, Duette is a blend of the classic Cabernet Sauvignon and the increasingly well known Carmenere grape. The combination produces a well structured wine with delicious succulent black fruits, touches of eucalypt and menthol and a long savoury finish.

Cabernet Sauvignon, Zardoz

Zardoz is Indomita’s top wine and comes from their best vineyards in the Alta Maipo region, close to Santiago and now home to many of Chile’s best wines. Vibrant, dark purple colour and a concetrated herbal cassis nose, it follows through to a palate of luscious plump blackcurrants, touches of coffee and some ápice. Immensely long.
