This new producer is situated in the D.O of Yecla, close to Murcia – the burgeoning tourist destination on Spain’s south eastern coast. Grapes sourced from the Finca la Colora benefit from the highest elevation in the region at 800 meters. Here, the vines are protected from the worst of the Spanish sun whilst the cool, crisp nights give the vines a welcome rest.
The locally popular variety, Monastrell, is the same as Mourvedre and when blended with both Shiraz and Tempranillo it makes a hedonistic blend of great concentration, ripe spicy fruit and wonderful juiciness. At present, this is an under rated region and the wines offer tremendous value for money.
