ONE CHAIN VINEYARDS
South Eastern Australia |
<< BACK |
One Chain’ is the first release from Alliance’s subsidiary company, Alliance Wine Australia, with the aim of over delivering consistent, approachable styles of wine.
The imperial measurement of One Chain, or 22 yards, gives this range a loosely cricket based theme but you don’t need to be a connoisseur of the great game to appreciate the pure enjoyment that One Chain delivers!
Stop press! After a recent Aussie odyssey we bagged some great deals and as a result we introduce a new wine… The Opportunist. A Colombard/Sauv/Riesling blend from Adelaide, it would normally sell for over £8 per bottle but our opportunistic buyer was there at the right time…!

Colombard Sauvignon Riesling 'The Opportunist'
The Opportunists represents the very best value wine available each year and as such the blend may change from vintage to vintage. The 2008 comes from one of Australia’s great producers and its vibrant, grassy, grapefruit tinged fruit is testament to the work of an Opportunist. |
Shiraz 'The Opportunist'
Sometimes Opportunities are too good to pass up. This McLaren Vale Shiraz would normally sell for 3 times the price but opportunity came our way and this is the result. A deep, inviting crimson black with an intense cassis, plum and bramble nose. Rich, voluptuous and silky on the palate with creamy black fruits and a little savoury smokiness from oak. How can being an Opportunist be so bad when the wine tastes this good? |
Chardonnay ‘The Googly’, One Chain Vineyards
Lovely ripe melon and apple characters mingle with touches of pear and honey. Bright, zingy and well balanced, it is ideal with meaty fish or on its own. |
Shiraz Cabernet ‘The Wrong ‘Un’, One Chain Vineyards
A bright spicy red with ripe berry flavours and lovely velvety texture. Youthful and spicy, it is ideal on its own or with lightly spiced meats or casseroles. |
Brut Sparkling ‘Howzat’, One Chain Vineyards
This delicious, fragrant and frivolous sparkler has ample pear, apple and tropical fruit character on the nose which leads through to a palate of crisp, citrus and creamy pineapple. |
Reserve Shiraz ‘The Golden Duck’, One Chain Vineyards
This wine blends rich, gutsy Barossa fruit with cooler, more cerebral Pyrenees Shiraz to make a delicious, richly flavoured but well structured red with heaps of creamy bramble fruit overlaid with spice and subtle vanillin oak. |
TIDDY WIDDY WELL
South Eastern Australia

The comically named Tiddy Widdy Beach in South Australia experiences the rare phenomena of the dodge tide, where the sea goes out for 18 hours, leaving the beach exposed and the prized blue swimming crabs running to the nearby freshwater well for refuge. These bright, fruit driven wines will liven up even the crabbiest of folk.
Though immediately quirky and humorous, Tiddy Widdy Well has a built a reputation for offering
intriguing blends, great quality and an eyecatching
package over its lifetime. If you agree that wine is
all about pleasure then Tiddy Widdy Well is the
brand for you..

Colombard Riesling Sauvignon, Tiddy Widdy Well
Don't judge a book by the cover.....inside this bottle is a wine sourced from premium regions, using very high quality grapes. The resulting wine, in marketing speak, over delivers in every way. Crisp, herbaceous and vibrant on the nose with a palate of fresh grapefruit, guava and mango. Unencumbered by oak and free to roam your taste buds. |

Shiraz Cabernet Merlot, Tiddy Widdy Well
Everything an Aussie red should be. Upfront fruit, soft tannins, rich, concentrated palate and a long ripe finish. But there's more to this wine, it's not that simple, there's some complexity there as well, great length and real finesse - a real beaut' mate! |
