It
has been a fabulous few months for myself since joining
Alliance wine back at the beginning of September.
I have had the chance to build on a solid, loyal customer
base and to meet some real characters- so thank you
to you all. This sense of family and friendship was
most apparent when many of our team headed for Spain
at the beginning of November on a whirl wind trip to
meet many of our suppliers. These trips are often memorable
but this one really was magic.
Over
3 days we travelled the width of Spain on our very own
“Boogie Bus” enjoying the wonderful scenery,
plenty of lovely Cava and the chance to really get to
know my colleagues in the most pleasant and fun way
possible…. through the medium of Karaoke!
The hospitality we encountered from each and every Bodega
from Rueda through Ribera del Duero across to Priorat
was something you would have to have seen to have believed,
but needless to say moments not to be forgotten. One
of the best was in Rioja seeing Juan Luis Canas from
Luis Canas hopping across his new oak barrels taking
large pippet samples of his 10 day old wines for us
to try.
Not
to mention the fabulously entertaining Rustic dinners
of Chorizo and Lamb and delicious Verdejo in Rueda.
