Stella Bella Scholarship

We were delighted to launch the Stella Bella Scholarship in 2004 in conjunction with the winery and the Australian Wine Bureau. Promising to be a wonderful opportunity to travel throughout Western Australia, learning about what makes the area so special, it was no surprise that we had many eager volunteers to go on the inaugural trip!

January 2005 will see a party of 10 people depart for Perth on a week’s tour of the state, with the emphasis being on Margaret River and the Great Southern regions. Soil sampling, leaf plucking, shoot thinning, fining trialling, blending and tasting await those lucky few on a trip of a lifetime. Scholars include people from Conran Restaurants, Forte Hotels, Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen restaurant, Oloroso in Edinburgh and Heritage Hospitality Catering. Looking after them all will be two Alliance stalwarts, Robin and Miriam – how very good of them to volunteer!

Of course, once the visit is over, we’re looking for the scholars of 2006 so if you are a supporter of Stella Bella and would like to get involved, do please contact your area sales manager or email Giles Cooke MW on giles.cooke@alliancewine.co.uk
