Alliance at the Decanter Fine Wine Encounter

For two days, one weekend in November, 100 of the world’s best producers gather in the Landmark Hotel in London, to give consumers a chance to taste their wines. In 2004 two wineries represented in the UK by Alliance Wine were invited to take part, Domaine A from Tasmania and Bodegas Luis Canas from Rioja.

Tasters who had any preconceptions of Tasmania were blown away by the sensational quality of the Domaine A wines. From the excellent Sauvignon Blanc to the beautifully balanced Cabernets and the extremely rare and incredibly complex Pinot Noir; Domaine A shone. The Luis Canas range showed superbly including the Amaren Reserva. 100% Tempranillo, previously the Bodega’s flagship, it is also favourite of author and Spanish Wine Specialist John Radford.
