Havana Hills

We hope you haven’t missed that Alliance is now importing Havana Hills from South Africa. What you might have missed is just how many medals and points the wines have been picking up along the way.

Take the Sauvignon Blanc 2002 for example. Just in, and we suspect soon to be just sold-out, it got a Veritas Double-Gold and 4.5 points from John Platter. The Cabernet Sauvignon Du Plessis Reserve was highly recommended by Decanter Magazine in the recent tasting and the list of Veritas awards for Havana Hills’ reds is long and impressive. Not bad for a very young estate.

Watch out for the addition of a new wine, Havana Hills Cabernet Shiraz, early this autumn.

Fantastically situated high on the slopes of the Olifantskop overlooking Table Bay, just 7 km from the ocean, the estate is mostly dry farmed and as well as vines has just harvested it’s first crop of olives. It is home to an abundance of wildlife and fynbos species.

We feel sure that Havana Hills is going to cause a stir and it’s great to be in at the beginning of something this exciting.
