Blewitt Springs - Luscious Labels

Brett Howard just loves our visits! Last time, we cornered him at London Wine Trade Fair (ignoring his, and our, perilous hangovers) and bullied him into agreeing to totally re-vamp his Hillsview labels. A few months down the line, and much to his chagrin, Brett had to agree that he had made the right decision although he may never truly come to terms with the rather tongue-in-cheek, cheesy poetry on the back label!

We’re almost there now and even though we say it ourselves, they look damn smart.

Newly packaged wines will be phased in over the next few months with the new addition to the range, the Botrytis Semillon arriving very soon.

So, when we visited Brett in January of this year, we went with an agenda. Now Blewitt Springs wines are very good but those labels…..!! Not sure what it was they were screaming but I didn’t like the noise. Without too much arm twisting, Brett agreed that we were right – entirely new packaging was required.

STOP PRESS!!!!!!!

Last year, whilst over in Adelaide, Brett let me taste his new “pet” wine. A deep, concentrated, brooding Malbec with beautiful sweet yet savoury fruit, huge concentration and wonderful texture. We will have this new release in the Autumn though reservations can be made now. A little more expensive than the rest of the Blewitt’s range, this wine is very much Brett’s flagship wine.
