Raats Forges a New Alliance
Alliance wine is delighted to announce the addition of the acclaimed Stellenbosch producer, Raats Family Wines, to their South African portfolio.
The announcement comes hot on the heels of an impressive showing in April’s issue of Wine Spectator, which saw the Raats Chenin Blanc confirm its status as a hot contender for South Africa’s top Chenin Blanc, by scoring 91 points for the 4th year in a row. Perhaps even more impressive was the performance of the MR de Compostella, Raats’ joint venture with Mzokhona Mvemve. The 2005 MR de Compostella repeated the success of their maiden 2004 vintage by scoring 93 points - once again the highest ranked Bordeaux blend from South Africa.
2008 looks to be a bright year for Raats Family wines. Bruwer Raats commented “I’m very excited about working with the dynamic, young team at Alliance and feel at home amongst their quality- focused portfolio.”
Genesis Wines will continue to distribute the Raats Family wines in the London on-trade.
