1999 Bourriquot, Napa
The 1999 Bourriquot, Haven's homage to Bordeaux's famed
Cheval Blanc, is one of the most aromatically complex wines
from northern California. Notes of camphor, menthol, black
currants, and smoke jump from the glass of this soft, elegant,
round, expansively flavoured, seamless wine. Low acidity and
beautiful fruit dominate this classy effort. Drink it over
the next 7-8 years.

1999 Merlot Reserve, Carneros
The saturated ruby/purple coloured 1999 Merlot Reserve
possesses many of the same characteristics, but a more concentrated
mid-palate as well as greater depth. All of its component
parts - acidity, alcohol, extract, tannin and wood are beautifully
balanced. It should drink well for a decade.

1999 Merlot, Napa
Haven's elegant 1999 Merlot exhibits aromas of coffee,
mocha, smoke, spice, red and black currants, enjoyable cherry
fruit on the palate, a sweet lushness, medium body, and a
pleasant but undistinguished finish. Drink it over the next
2-3 years.

19999 Syrah Napa
The 99 Syrah is a sexy, smoky, dark ruby/purple-coloured
effort with plenty of jammy berry fruit mixed with cassis.
A creamy-textured, smoky, seductive, low acid and medium to
full-bodied Syrah, it will drink well for 7-8 years.

1999 Syrah Hudson Vineyards
Hudson Syrah exhibits a saturated purple colour as well
as gorgeously sweet, pure, blackberry and cassis fruit presented
in a serious, structured, backward style. While medium to
full-bodied and ripe, it possesses less charm than the 1999
Syrah Napa, largely because of more tannin and grip. Give
it 1-2 years of cellaring and drink it over the following
decade.
