Platter Star For Alliance

Harpers, October 2002

Alliance Wine will be showing extended ranges from McGregor Winery, Robertson , the hugely successful Marimba and Bushman's Creek brands and introducing one of South Africa's rising stars, Havana Hills.

Situated high up on the Olifantskop, overlooking Table Bay, Havana Hills has been described as "one of the most spectacular wine farms in the Cape" by John Platter. Founded in 1998 by Kobus de Plessis with winemaking expertise from Nico Vermeulen and the renowned Bordeaux winemaker Alain Mouiex, Havana Hills has quickly forged an enviable reputation.

The Du Plessis Reserve Cabernet Merlot garnered a Platter 5 star rating with the rest of the range collecting numerous 4 and 4.5 star ratings as well as double golds at the Veritas awards.

Havana Hills wines are set to retail at the £6.99 - £7.99 mark and the Du Plessis reserve wines will offer stunning value at £10.99.

"This completes our re-vamp of the South African portfolio" states Giles Cooke M.W, Wine Development Director for Alliance Wine. Cooke continues, " Our ranges from McGregor and Marimba offer great value for money, Bushman's Creek gives us stunning wines at the £5.99 - £6.99 mark whilst Havana Hills reinforces our strategy to work with leading edge producers throughout the world. These are truly stunning wines."
