Jerez, Spain |

www.gutierrezcolosia.com
Bodegas Gutierrez Colosia are heirs to a long and noble viticulture and wine producing tradition. The bodega, dating from 1838 and preserved virtually intact, was acquired by the Gutierrez Colosia family at the start of the 20th century. Its unique location - the only bodega in Puerto de Santa
Maria situated alongside the river mouth - ensures the perfect humidity for producing artisan, 100% natural wines from the traditional crianza-solera method: noble wines from a noble tradition.
Criadera amd Solera
The quality of the Gutiérrez Colosía wines is guaranteed by careful ageing through a process known as "criaderas y soleras", following the region's tradition. It is a dynamic system by the, so called, “corrimiento de escalas” or running up the scales with wines from different crops, which guarantees the quality of the sherry wines.

Ageing
It is this location which allows for the perfect humidity level needed for the biological ageing of the “Fino” and the developing of a fine layer of yeast “en flor” (micro-organisms which develop over the wine surface) in a veil fashion that gives this wine its unique aroma and taste.

Colosia Manzanilla
The driest and lightest of all sherries, ideal as an aperitif. Proximity of the cellars to the sea gives a beautiful, faintly salty tang to this wine. |

Colosia Cream
A sweetened Fino style of sherry with the same appealing complex nutty flavours but with a creamy, well balanced sweetness that makes for a very adaptable style. |
|
 |
|
Colosia Oloroso
The most complex of sherry styles with an almost mahogany colour flecked through with amber. Evolved, complex nose of nuts, caramel and dried peel. Intriguingly dry palate with concentrated nutty flavours and a very long, complex finish. |
|
 |
|
Colosia Amontillado
Pale golden amber in colour with a complex nose of walnuts, toffee and dried orange peel. Dry, full flavoured and ideal as an aperitif, with food or even with cheese and nuts. |
